As a buyer, my day is naturally a moving feast! I’ve worked in several sectors during my career – and it’s great to combine and use best practices from all those industries to make a practical difference here at Woodall Nicholson. I’ve been a VCS Buyer since April 2021 - it’s been a great year and the team made me feel very welcome from day one.

I see Woodall Nicholson as a business that matches my ambition and personal development, and because I work with colleagues from right across the business I’ve been able to build great working relationships and play a part in the constant evolution of Woodall Nicholson. I’ve been working here since late 2020 and still really enjoy the day-to-day tasks as Stores Supervisor much as I did on day one.

I joined the company in 1983, and have seen lots of positive change, but the most enduring feature of working here is the support and camaraderie. Despite my 39-years plus time at Coleman Milne, I still enjoy watching all the pieces of the jigsaw come together to create a finished product. I also enjoy all the support from co-workers and camaraderie with my team.

I’ve been working here for 10 years now, and have always known about the opportunities to progress within the company. My work-life balance is the best it’s ever been thanks to the trusting and supportive culture and a four-day week, but I’d have to say my greatest highlight is that I’m part of a team with my best friend who I’ve worked almost every day with since we served our apprenticeship together almost 20 years ago!

I started out as a welder/fabricator with JM Engineering, and after recently completing my apprenticeship, I’m now working as a Production Assistant As Head of Supply Chain and Aftercare, I work on multiple projects both in the short and medium-term to add value to the business. What I enjoy most about working at Woodall Nicholson is the opportunity to make a real difference and improve the business through developing people and processes.

In my role as Quality Engineer, my focus is on driving and supporting best practices to improve the quality of our products, safety standards, and operational efficiencies. It’s my long-term career goal to play an active part in the company’s goal to develop zero-emission transport systems, and I’m well placed to play a part in that as I’ve been encouraged to apply the knowledge and experience I’ve gained during my time with Promech to the wider Group.

I joined the company in 2016, and no two days have been the same because I’ve had the opportunity to move around the business and into different roles. My confidence has increased in a huge way because of the flexibility and the freedom I’ve had to make the roles my own. And with such a supportive team around me, my knowledge of the business is always growing.
